Why a Boiler Code Is Only the Start in Westerham
Heating Services ltd, a heating and plumbing company based in Oxted, Surrey, covers boiler repairs in Westerham and other towns across London, Surrey and Kent. A boiler fault is diagnosed before parts are fitted, because one symptom such as falling pressure can have three causes that cost very different amounts.
Why diagnose a boiler fault before fitting parts?
The code on the display points to an area, not to a part. Falling pressure has at least three causes: a leak, the expansion vessel or a passing valve, and each costs a very different amount to put right.
At Heating Services ltd the fault is found first, then the repair is quoted in writing. Every major make is worked on, with common parts on board to fix things first time where possible.
Which combi boiler to avoid?
The one to avoid is the one sized or specified wrongly for your house, whatever the badge on the front. A combi suits a home with good mains pressure and one or two bathrooms used one at a time. Heating Services ltd fits Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal and Viessmann among others, and sizes the boiler on a survey.
What gets checked at a boiler service in Westerham?
A proper service involves readings, not a visual check. A flue gas analyser measures combustion and the results are recorded. Checks cover the flue, the seals, the burner, the bathroom fitter in Oxted heat exchanger, the gas pressure and the safety devices.
Services from Heating Services ltd are carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, with a written record left behind. Anything that needs work is quoted separately, and nothing chargeable is done on the day without asking.
How do I know if I have a combi or system boiler?
Look for a hot water cylinder. No cylinder usually means a combi; a cylinder with no cold tank in the loft usually means a system boiler. A cylinder plus a cold water tank in the loft usually means a conventional, or regular, boiler.
What plumbing work does Heating Services ltd take on in Westerham?
Hidden leaks reveal themselves through falling pressure or returning damp. Sections are isolated to narrow it down before anything is opened up. Heating Services ltd finds the leak, fixes it and reinstates what was lifted.
Older homes near Oxted can carry lead, steel, copper and plastic pipe all in one system. Swapping failing or undersized runs tends to lift flow and pressure. Taps, valves, stopcocks and isolation valves are included too.
Heating Services ltd quotes jobs in Westerham in writing, itemised into parts and labour. Call 07940 131 203 for boiler repairs.
